Built for the moment a phase is really done.
cadence. is a small, independent project. It exists because the hardest question in a launch, whether this phase is actually finished, usually gets answered by whoever speaks last in a meeting.
We wanted a tool that treated that moment as the main event. Every phase ends at a gate, the gate has criteria, and the decision is written down with its reasons. Everything else in cadence., from the forecast to the portfolio view, exists to make that decision easier to trust.
We are opinionated on purpose. There is one way to run a project, and we would rather make it very good than make it configurable.
The name and the mark
A cadence is a steady rhythm. The full stop in the name is the end of a phase, the point where you decide.
The three rings are the three things a gate looks at: the tasks done, the criteria met and the time used. They are drawn the same way on every gate in the app.
